Eid al-Fitr celebrations marking the end of the month of Ramadan will soon be upon us.

While millions of Muslims around the world honored their faith by fasting from sunup to sundown over the past month, we must not stop thinking about those who are forced to go hungry simply because there is no food to eat.

Like in Gaza, where 2.2 million people are on the brink of famine. One in six children aged under two are acutely malnourished. With each meal missed for pregnant women, the odds of delivering an undernourished, undersized baby rise. The newborns who live are often too weak to even cry.

Or in Sudan, where 10 months of conflict have created the world’s largest hunger crisis. Hundreds of thousands of women and children are struggling to provide for their families, secure food, and provide care.

Your Sadaqah — or gift of charity — can make a world of difference to women and girls surviving in crisis zones in Gaza, Sudan, and around the world.

So with Eid soon upon us, we’re asking you to make one final gift before Ramadan ends:

The suffering must end and peace must prevail. We condemn the violence in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, including all sexual violence, and echo the UN Secretary-General’s call for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas.
