John — Care Workers Recognition Month offers a special opportunity to highlight the invaluable contributions of nannies, childcare providers, home care workers, family caregivers and more.
We're reaching out to invite YOU to reflect on the care workers/caregivers in your own life. It could be a nanny whose kindness knows no bounds, a home care worker whose dedication is unwavering or a caregiver whose compassion makes every day better.
Tell us: who has made a lasting impact on you and your family? Celebrate their dedication and hard work by nominating them today.
We're sharing an inspiring nomination from our own Jenn Stowe, NDWA Executive Director, to kick things off. Jenn nominated Doretha J. Marshall, a devoted childcare provider.
"I was a young parent raising my daughter in DC while attending college full-time. After searching for months, I nearly dropped out of school during my senior year because of the lack of affordable child care," said Jenn.
"The week before I was set to withdraw from school, my neighbor, Ms. Doretha Marshall, whom I met at a park, offered to care for my daughter, Zoe, at a price that I could afford. She changed the trajectory of my life and her care allowed me to go to school, graduate, and start my career. She is my guardian angel!"
Jenn's nomination is a powerful reminder of the impact that care workers have on our lives and our communities.
Now, it's YOUR turn. Who is your Doretha Marshall?
Your nomination is a powerful act of acknowledgment that uplifts the entire care community. It shows care workers everywhere that their work is seen, valued and celebrated.
Selected stories will be featured throughout Care Workers Recognition Month, spreading a message of gratitude, respect and support for the essential roles these unsung heroes play in our lives.
Thanks for all that you do,

P.S.: Here's clue #2 for our Care Is Everywhere Scavenger Hunt!
Thank you for being a dedicated supporter of the National Domestic Workers Alliance!
We're working day and night to win respect, recognition, and labor rights and protections for the more than 2.5 million nannies, house cleaners, and homecare workers.
The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.
Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
