Did you see this story last week? Ken Paxton was given an “11th-hour” deal to protect him from jail time for fraud. Paxton has once again avoided accountability — this Trump-backed extremist has no place representing Texans.
Bottom line: Paxton continues to evade accountability for his charges of fraud and corruption.
It is ironic that the top law enforcement agent in the state has been charged with the same crimes he is supposed to protect Texans from. And it’s not just Paxton.
Corruption in Texas is systemic: A pro-Paxton PAC gave Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, the person who presided over Paxton’s trial, $3 million dollars. All the while, Governor Abbott has stayed silent on these crimes. He’s afraid of upsetting Donald Trump.
Texas politicians like Paxton are abusing their authority to serve their political agendas rather than serve the people of Texas, and I’ve seen enough.
