The U.S. Supreme Court's 2024 session is underway and their docket is full of high-stakes cases that will impact the future of civil rights and democracy in America -- right now, they're hearing arguments on the legal status of mifepristone, a safe and essential abortion medication.
Republicans rushed to pack the Supreme Court with conservative justices who would sanction unethical and discriminatory practices that align with their party's greed and bigotry. So it comes as no surprise that ethics scandals and disastrous decisions have defined this iteration of the Court.
This year, reproductive rights, voting rights, and the dissemination of disinformation on social platforms will all be on the docket.
To put it plainly, John, millions of Americans' fundamental rights depend on the whims of a court they did not elect and do not trust.
