Oh hey.
If you’ve felt unsettled lately, it’s not just because of the East Coast earthquake or the whole moon-blocking-the-sun thing. It’s the ever-present and looming threat of Republicans attacking the bodily autonomy of half the population.
Take Arizona, where just today, Arizona's Supreme Court upheld a near-total abortion ban from 1864. And last week in Florida, on the same day the State Supreme Court approved the amendment going to the November ballot, they also allowed a 6-week ban to take effect.
But it’s not all scary out there. There’s also some (more cheery) news at the state level, as advocates in multiple battlegrounds are working to secure abortion freedom amendments on the November ballots.
That’s why today, we’re bringing you an update on the fight for ✨abortion access ✨in Vote Save America’s three priority states: Florida, Arizona, and Nevada.
The State Supreme Court in Florida has approved an abortion measure for the November ballot after months of hard work from organizers at Floridians Protecting Freedom.
Arizona is also one step closer to securing an abortion initiative on the November ballot. Arizona for Abortion Access has far surpassed the 383,000 signatures required for their ballot initiative, with 3 months still left before the deadline! Look at those overachievers.
And we can’t forget Nevada - and it’s not just because of what goes down in Vegas. Nevadans for Reproductive Freedom PAC has collected more than 110,000 signatures for an abortion ballot measure – blowing their goal of 102,364 signatures out of the water.
We love a good news dump. But there’s still a lot of work to be done in the months ahead. That’s why we’re asking ya to support our amazing repro freedom partners: Arizona for Access, Nevadans for Reproductive Freedom PAC, and Floridians Protecting Freedom/Yes on 4 Florida.
Lest we forget, Florida and Arizona, along with many, many states, aren’t slowing their abortion attacks. We’re still saying, with our entire chest, f*ck bans!
Let’s do this,
Team VSA
