AAAFund endorsees take action against the pandemic.

Our endorsees are spearheading legislation to help working people weather the COVID-19 crisis, and fighting misinformation around the disease.
We're highlighting some of their efforts here.

Check out our endorsees' COVID-19 resource centers, tele-town halls, and other legislative solutions.

Our endorsees are getting creative about constituent outreach. They provide online guides, host town halls via telephone, and update their social media pages with COVID-19 resources. Check out Dr. Pritesh Gandhi, a primary care doctor running for Texas 10th Congressional District, for his weekly Facebook town halls.
Current members of Congress are also crafting legislation to help their constituents, like Rep. Haley Stevens' bipartisan bill to help small manufacturers survive the economic shutdown; Rep. Susie Lee's bill to financially aid student veterans; and Maine Speaker of the House, Sara Gideon's bill protecting healthcare affordability and accessibility.

Endorsee Spotlight:

Rep. Katie Porter, CA-45

Rep. Porter earned internet fame when she secured the CDC chief's promise for free COVID-19 testing. Since then, she also led the effort to enact remote voting, a bill to help older Americans, and provision in the relief package ensuring timely, fairly-priced medical supply delivery.

Rep. TJ Cox, CA-21

Rep. Cox spearheaded a letter to Congressional leaders asking for the elimination of immigrant restrictions on coronavirus testing. He also helped secure key waivers for California, granting greater flexibility in healthcare provision.

Rep. Andy Kim, NJ-3

Rep. Kim has led several efforts to strengthen the federal response to the pandemic, including to establish a third testing site for COVID-19, save millions of franchise jobs, and mobilize the DPA. He also obtained emergency aid for New Jersey small businesses.

Rep. Gil Cisneros, CA-39

Rep. Cisneros headed the calls for translation of COVID-19 stimulus package information and cosponsored the resolution denouncing anti-Asian sentiment. He also acquired much-needed funding for his district's health centers.

The members of Congress we helped elect in 2018 strengthen and fight for our communities. This year, we need your help more than ever. Help us keep these members of Congress in their jobs, and elect more progressive AAPI candidates who will join them in putting our communities first.
I want to chip in!

ICYMI - The Ohio primary, in a dramatic midnight decision, was postponed until April 28th, 2020. If you're an Ohio voter, you can still request a vote-by-mail ballot! Find more details on how your new primary will work here.
Air Force veteran, daughter of immigrants, and first generation college graduate, Foster is dedicated to giving back the veterans' community and mentoring young service people returning from deployment.

AAAFund and the Tri-State Chapter of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky announce our endorsement of Nikki Foster for Ohio's First Congressional District.

Lisa Kuan, Tri-State AAAFund Co-Founder, said, “Nikki knows how to fight for working people and will continue to do so by protecting access to healthcare, expanding job training and educational opportunities, and investing in infrastructure. Her experiences in transitioning veterans back to the civilian workforce uniquely position her to understand the needs of businesses, communities, and veterans.

No doubt, Nikki will serve the people of Southwestern Ohio as excellently as she has the American people throughout her career.” Read our full statement.

Happy National Census Day!

We celebrated Census Day on April 1st with tons of other AAPI organizations! Guest speakers from all over the country joined us, including Hollis Wong-Wear, a Grammy-nominated musician, Alvina Yeh of APALA, Kavi Vu of the Wake Up Atlanta web series, and more. Make sure you're counted this year!
Asian Americans are experiencing a rise in racially motivated discrimination, harassment, and attacks in response to COVID-19. Xenophobia has been on the rise and there have been over 1,000 incidents of anti-Asian discrimination reported in the United States in recent weeks. In response, we support Rep. Grace Meng's Resolution against anti-Asian rhetoric.

We need to take a stand against hate and attacks on all communities. We deserve better from our leaders.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay inside. With love and support,
