Breaking news: The House State and Local Government Finance and Policy Committee passed the Ranked Choice Voting Local Option this morning, advancing the bill in the legislative process!
This progress is possible because of YOU!
The bill, carried by Rep. Frazier and Sen. Morrison, provides local control and levels the playing field for all local jurisdictions — cities, counties, and school districts — to adopt RCV if they wish. It also provides election standards for consistent implementation of RCV across Minnesota and allows state certification of RCV voting equipment and tabulation systems, which would expedite election results.
Thank you again to everyone who was able to join us to show support for expanding ranked choice voting in MN! Stay tuned for next steps in the process!
If you couldn’t make it to the hearing, but still would like to help the RCV cause, consider signing up to volunteer at an upcoming party convention to help educate convention-goers on RCV and influence the next generation of Minnesota lawmakers! This coming Saturday is Convention Super Saturday and we are looking for more volunteers — sign up here if you can help!
And if your time is limited, please consider making a donation to fund our organizing efforts! We are so grateful for your time, effort and financial support as we move the RCV bill forward at the Capitol; we simply couldn’t do this work without you.
