The Arizona Supreme Court just allowed the state’s complete abortion ban from 1864 to go into effect. It’s a devastating blow to reproductive rights in the key battleground state — but Democrats are already mobilizing to fight back.

Activists have succeeded in getting a whopping 500,000 signatures to put a constitutional amendment enshrining the right to an abortion on the ballot in November, and the Arizona Democratic Party is launching a state-wide movement to make sure it passes and elect pro-choice champions up and down the ballot!

Constitutional ballot amendments are one of the best tools we have to fight back against Republican extremism. Pro-abortion amendments have passed in EVERY state where they’ve been voted on, but only after a determined, every-door-in-every-county public mobilization campaign to get people to the polls and vote to restore their rights.
