Take a look at this photo if you want to protect public education. No, they’re not teachers. This is a far-right extremist politician aligning with an anti-government extremist organization. I’m running for Congress in Oklahoma’s First District to protect public education and end the extremism tearing Oklahoma apart.
The smiling lady in this photo seems nice enough. Even the Moms for Liberty logo looks like it was taken straight out of the Constitution. So, you might be surprised to learn that the Southern Poverty Law Center listed Moms for Liberty in its Year in Hate & Extremism report as an anti-government extremist organization. It’s described as an anti-student inclusion group that attacks public education and bans books.
Moms for Liberty earned that by intimidating and harassing teachers, threatening school boards, and having ties to the Proud Boys.
The man in this photo is MAGA Rep. Kevin Hern. You won’t see him on the front lines leading the charge. You will see him proudly signaling his allegiance to far-right extremism – like in this photo. Hern called Moms for Liberty “patriots.”
This is the same Hern who called for the dismissal of our FBI Director for failing to produce documents to incriminate President Biden even though there were no such documents to produce. I will tell Hern that threatening and interfering in an investigation violates a core principle of our justice system. It aligns Hern with the tactics of Moms for Liberty and against the protections of a Constitutional Democracy.
In this photo, Hern is not standing on the side of public education.
Our campaign is a fight against the MAGA extremism dividing our country. This campaign is about the responsible majority putting an end to extremism by voting for Representatives who place America’s best interests above politics. Who pass meaningful legislation that moves our country forward. Who are working to create the best version of America.
This office should be about planning our future. We want to create and sustain a regional economic hub that brings jobs and economic security to all Oklahomans. We want the First District right in the middle of that hub – with high-speed rail from Tulsa to Oklahoma City.
An educated workforce is needed in this District to make it happen. Public education is the foundation of an educated workforce.
