My name is Edixón Salcedo, a career firefighter with an academic degree in Fire Science and Fire Safety, graduated from the National Experimental University of Security UNES - Aragua / Venezuela - Also a Pre-hospital Rescue and Emergency Technician Accredited in Venezuela and Peru - My Professional Training Center is called: SINCAPRED, where I am the General Director. Since I learned about the STOP THE BLEED® campaign; I committed to train other people and make known the importance of knowing how to control a life-threatening hemorrhage and being equipped.

Training is at the heart of the STOP THE BLEED® campaign and STOP THE BLEED® Instructors are the ones that make the heart beat!  The Instructor Spotlight shines a bright light on individuals engaging their communities about STOP THE BLEED®.

In 2018, my high school went into lockdown due to a reported active shooter. In the end, it turned out to be a hoax. However, it was scary not knowing what to do if people had been injured. As a nursing student I learned about STOP THE BLEED® and became an associate instructor. Now I am a registered nurse and a STOP THE BLEED® Instructor. I am also Miss Western Mass Massachusetts 2024. The competition I won is an official Preliminary within the Miss America Organization. I will be competing for Miss Massachusetts. My community service initiative with this organization is STOP THE BLEED®.
