I just returned from a recent congressional delegation trip to Israel — the experience was nothing short of eye-opening.   Memorials for those Murdered and Taken Hostage at the Grounds of the Nova Music Festival Hello John, I just returned from a recent congressional delegation trip to Israel — the experience was nothing short of eye-opening. The world was shocked and heartbroken on October 7th, when Hamas launched a brutal attack claiming the lives of over a thousand innocent individuals, including 32 Americans who suffered unimaginable atrocities. The merciless treatment of women, children, and the elderly will never be forgotten and cannot be ignored. It’s a stark reminder of the importance of peace through American strength, exposing Biden’s weakness on the world stage. His incompetence and lack of resolve only embolden terrorist organizations like Hamas. While in Israel, I had the honor of meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog. Their resolve in the aftermath of such a devastating event was truly commendable. However, the most sobering part of our visit was to communities like Kibbutz Nir Oz, which still bears the scars of the massacre that occurred there. Our delegation also paid respects at the site of the Nova Music Festival, where Hamas terrorists callously ended the lives of nearly 400 promising young souls. Such acts of violence cannot and will not go unpunished, as Hamas poses a threat not only to Israel but to freedom and security worldwide. One of the most poignant moments of our trip was meeting with the Goldberg-Polin family, whose son Hersh, an American citizen, was among those taken hostage. Photos taken by Congressman Langworthy at the Kibbutz Nir Oz An attendee at the Nova Music Festival — he lost his left arm to a grenade and was forced to tie his own tourniquet before he was taken back to Gaza, where he’s been held hostage for more than 180 days. His family’s courage and resilience in the face of uncertainty serve as a sobering reminder of the human toll exacted by terrorism. We owe it to families like theirs to leave no stone unturned in securing the safe return of all hostages. I have always been a strong supporter of Israel, and we cannot stop calling for the swift and safe return of American and Israeli hostages held by Hamas. This should be President Biden’s top priority until we bring every American home. It’s been 180 days and there are still 6 Americans being held captive — President Biden should be publicly calling for their release every single day. Every freedom-loving American must stand with Israel to eradicate Hamas. We must send a message across the world: terrorism will not prevail. Not now, not ever. Sincerely, Nicholas A.
