The truth is, Eric Hovde has already poured more than $5 million into this race to help him surge in the polls, to the point where this race is now statistically tied. His virtually unlimited campaign war chest is difficult to compete against.

Hovde also has the full support of Trump’s network of right-wing MAGA donors after getting his “complete and total endorsement” last week.

We needed to raise our fundraising goals to keep our own ads on the air and fight back against Hovde’s flood of spending. But I can’t self fund $20 million like my megamillionaire opponent can. Instead, I count on grassroots support from people like you to stay competitive.

To be honest, asking for donations is my least favorite part of the job. But donations to emails like this one are one of our most valuable sources for grassroots fundraising — and they are what’s keeping us afloat in this toss-up Senate race.
