John,
“Life has to be lived forward but can only be understood backward.”
The great philosopher Kierkegaard said those words. Never have they been truer!
One day soon, you and I will look back on the present challenges presented by COVID-19.
I trust this story below will encourage you within the current challenges …
- Since 2010, our Village of Hope in Pune, India has provided a home to a growing number of children — entrusted to our care by desperate mothers trapped in the brothel.
- This growing “family” had the burden of finding a new place to lease each and every year due to prejudice against their ministry.
- Caring friends like you stepped into the picture. You helped Shared Hope purchase land — and raise enough funds — to build a permanent home for these children in need.
- When opposition and bureaucracy thwarted the building of the home, we weren’t deterred!
- In November 2018, God miraculously provided a home nearby that was partially under construction. Thanks to the funds already in place from our generous friends and supporters, we were able to purchase the home …
- And a few months later, now one year ago — in April 2019 — we celebrated the dedication of the new happy home … with kids, cows, chickens, and goats everywhere!
Fast forward to April 2020. While the Coronavirus threatens India — these little ones are off the streets and safe —
In a beautiful home made possible by your love.
Today, with a “stay at home” order in place by the India government, these children are well provided for: They have fresh milk, eggs, chicken, and vegetables. They are happy and healthy … and wanted to tell you so!
Please watch this brief video of thanks … I hope their smiles light up your heart like they do mine.
Life can only be understood backward! Thank you for your ongoing and faithful giving!
