So today, I'm sharing a Special Report on how I'm working with Republicans and Democrats to make a difference for Kansans.

I'm serving to bring a new generation of leadership to Washington. My mom raised my brothers and me on her own while serving in the Army and then in the Postal Service. I later worked my way through college and am still paying off my student loans. I know people are sick and tired of partisan gridlock because I’ve felt that same frustration myself.

Bipartisan Action to Change Washington

Our work begins by rooting out corruption so government can truly work for the people.

That's why I stood up to my party’s leaders to stop congressional pay raises. Then I stood up to them again by supporting a bipartisan bill to ban insider stock trading by members of Congress.

My job is to serve you, not my party’s leaders or special interests.

I’m working with Republicans and Democrats to help pass the TRUST in Congress Act. Our bipartisan bill requires members of Congress and family members to put stocks into blind trusts to stop conflicts of interest.

It’s wrong for officials in either party to abuse the public’s trust for their own personal gain.

Bipartisan Help for Veterans

My mom served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. I learned so much about service, sacrifice, and dedication to country through her. After all our veterans have done for us, we must have their backs.

That's why I introduced and passed a bipartisan bill to help veteran-owned small businesses access resources to grow and hire.

Last month, I was glad to help recover military service medals for Jerry Goff, a Vietnam War veteran from Shawnee. My team and I are here to help local veterans however we can.

I was also glad to work with both parties to help pass a law that's funding a new clinic at the Kansas City VA. This means helping more veterans who were exposed to toxic burn pits.

Bipartisan Results

I served alongside Kansas Senator Moran as a negotiator to help pass a major bipartisan manufacturing law.

This new law has now led to a surge of factory construction across the U.S.

The bipartisan CHIPS and Science law will help us create more jobs and build more products in the U.S. – not China. It also supports workforce development and training programs so people are ready for new opportunities, many of which don’t require a college degree.

And on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I worked with both parties to pass the bipartisan infrastructure law. The Chamber of Commerce calls the law fiscally responsible. And now we're seeing the results -- Our local airports are being upgraded. Lead pipes are being replaced in Olathe. And U.S. 69 in Overland Park is being modernized.

I was also glad to work with Republicans and Democrats to bring Panasonic's new manufacturing plant to De Soto. This means 4,000 jobs for our community, the largest-ever economic project for Kansas.


My job is to serve every person and corner of our community – regardless of party. Whether we agree on an issue or not is beside the point. Everyone deserves a government that works for them – not just for special interests, big corporations, or the extremes of either party.

I'll keep doing everything I can to serve everyone in the Kansas Third to the best of my ability. And that starts with listening.
