Johh, April is Earth Month, when people worldwide reflect on their relationship with our planet. For Diana, this means exploring Colorado’s great outdoors, its natural beauty and fighting to protect it.
Right now our planet is in crisis, threatening all of the things we love if we don't act on climate change. Knowing this, Diana has authored several key pieces of legislation aimed at combating climate change. Here are just a few of the things Diana has been advocating for:
- Authored key pieces of legislation aimed at limiting the oil and gas industry's emissions, including one of the first bills President Biden signed into law.
- Closing a legal loophole allowing refineries in the U.S. to pump highly toxic chemicals into the atmosphere.
- Lead sponsor of legislation eliminating the “Halliburton Loophole” that exempted chemicals used in fracking operations from the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act.
- Has legislation to create the first-ever federal clean-energy standard – a key step in the efforts to fight climate change.
While this work is amazing, Diana knows we must do
even more to save our planet.
To stop our growing climate crisis, we need other members of Congress to get on board and pass this legislation. And we need it now.
If you agree with Diana, then add your name to this petition to support finally passing the legislation to combat our growing climate crisis >>
Thank you,
Team DeGette
