This week we received the following notification from CallHub, a Digital Organizing, Campaigning & Canvassing Platform for Political campaigns that we have been using since 2021:

This company has decided to remove us from their platform because our campaign is for a Republican candidate and we don’t “align with their values”.

Our campaign had been using Call Hub since 2021 during our last race as we were looking for options to be able to send text messages at a lower cost and in ways we could internally send messages and make phone calls without having to outsource this process to a company where we would have to pay more for the service.

Fast forward to May 2023 when CallHub decided to make their “values” public. In which they state they only work with Democrat candidates.

We didn’t realize this since we have been using this service for a few years and have not had any prior issues with this. CallHub was more than happy to approve our political campaign knowing we were Republican in August 2023.

They approved the account as a Republican candidate after their so-called “values” were published. So what has changed now?

My thought is that they are monitoring us and now know that we have a real chance at winning this seat and pose a threat to the “liberal” and “progressive” candidates they support.

While we are happy that we now know who we were inadvertently doing business with, it now leaves our campaign in a predicament where now 30 days before the election we need to scramble to find another service and get re-certified as a political entity to be able to send these messages and reach voters. This all costs money and takes time away from everything we had planned for the next 30 days.

It’s sad that conservative candidates continue to be silenced and censored by companies like this. But we are going to push forward and adapt and overcome like we always do.

Postcards and Mailers on the way to voter mailboxes! 💌

Very excited to announce that our very first batch of postcards and mailers have been sent and are on the way to voters across the 6th district!

Our Amazing Team Roca volunteers have been handwriting postcards for the last couple of months and it truly has been a labor of love. We have already been receiving feedback from voters who have already started receiving postcards and they are truly making an impact.

We have also sent out our first batch of 10,000 mailers to Republican absentee voters in the district. Absentee ballots have already been mailed by the state of Maryland, and it was crucial that our campaign get these out on time.

We still have work to do with sending postcards and mailers. Our goal is to send at least 3K more postcards and 20K mailers to voters. This is one of the parts of the campaign that cost a lot of money to complete.

With absentee ballots set to be mailed out by the state of Maryland starting on or after March 30th, we are facing a tight deadline to ensure our message reaches every voter in our district. To make this happen, we must raise a minimum of $20,000 by April 20th in order to get our materials out in time.

My name is Mariela Roca. I want to tell you a bit about myself and why I’m running for Congress here in Maryland’s 6th Congressional District.

I’m running for Congress because I was raised by a single mom in Puerto Rico who always showed me how hard work and determination is what makes us all live the American dream. I learned english when I was 5 years old, and from that young age always felt so proud to be an American.

I’m running for Congress as a military veteran. I began my journey of service to our nation in 2005 when I joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 20. During my military service I had the honor of serving my county abroad in the Global War on Terror, serving within the Task Force Medical and the Bagram Theater Internment Facility (BTIF) in Bagram, Afghanistan, during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2007. I know what sacrifice looks like - and this is why I love my country so much.

I’m running for my kids, your kids, and your grandkids. Everything that I do in my life is to make the best possible future for my daughter and my son and our future generations. I want them to experience the freedom and opportunity that the American Dream has offered me my entire life.

It's a bond that transcends words; a deep-seated connection with the men and women I served alongside, many of whom paid the ultimate price. I've witnessed the selflessness, courage, and dedication that define the character of those who choose to protect their nation.

As a medical logistician, my mission was to ensure that our dedicated warfighters had the essential tools and supplies required to save lives on the frontlines. I understood the critical nature of my role in providing our troops with the medical resources and equipment they needed to deliver immediate care in challenging and high-stress situations. I am now prepared to take the knowledge, commitment, and understanding I gained in that role with me to Congress, where I will tirelessly advocate for policies that will support our country, military and American families first. Above anything.

As a mother, I understand firsthand the deep commitment and love that comes with the responsibility of providing for one's family. In the countless roles we take on as parents - caregiver, protector, educator, and provider - we become intimately acquainted with the challenges and triumphs of family life. We witness the struggles that many families face, whether it's making ends meet, securing access to quality education, or ensuring our children have the healthcare they need. It's in these moments that we are inspired to take action, to advocate for better opportunities, and to fight for a brighter future for our families.

I know how to make our community, district, and America strong and proud because i’ve done it before.

And i’ll do it again as your next Congresswoman.
