John,
We know it’s been a minute since we last talked to you about Ted Cruz’s
sh*tty podcast — and you know we wouldn’t without good reason.
But new reporting, by way of our friends at the Houston Chronicle, has
revealed that iHeartMedia — the company responsible for distributing Ted’s
podcast — has been making regular and growing payments to a super PAC
supporting Ted’s reelection despite the fact that Ted insists he hasn’t
received a cent for hosting the show from a company that actively lobbies
Congress. Unfortunately for Ted, senators can’t accept financial gifts or
payouts from lobbyists.
The payments total more than $630,000 — nearly a third of the $2 million
Ted’s super PAC has been raising since the start of last year — prompting
several ethical questions.
And while Ted has yet to face any serious repercussions from this, we’re
willing to bet that one of the Senate’s biggest liars will continue to
double down on his reelection plan of lying and grifting at the expense of
Texans.

please chip in $5 today.
It’s clear Ted isn’t happy with this news becoming public. He lashed out
at a reporter earlier last week when pushed about this sketchy deal.
The controversy has grown to the point where at least one advertiser
announced it would leave the show.
We're not legal experts,
John — but we think it's oddly
suspicious that a senator who is claiming no wrongdoing is shutting down
basic questions into a podcast that they may have profited from.
If you ask us, we think Ted should resign and drop out of this race right
now so he can focus all of his time on the podcast. But it’s unlikely
that’ll happen — which is why we’re working hard to show him the door to
retirement.

to toss Ted out of the Senate this November?
