Last night at midnight, the 2024 General Assembly concluded! This year, our team brought several bills focused on providing resources to help those in need. With the session wrapped up, I wanted to take a moment to highlight a few of our bills that passed:

✅ HB451, the Tax Assistance for Low-Income Marylanders ([link removed]) bill, will increase support for the CASH campaign and other providers to make tax assistance more accessible to all.

✅ HB452, the Stop Scam Tax Preparers Act ([link removed]) , will strengthen protections for Marylanders who utilize the services of a registered tax preparer and help stop scammers who prey on those looking for help.

✅ HB845, the Individual Income Tax Credit Eligibility Awareness Campaign ([link removed]) , will allow our agency to create tools to inform likely-eligible Marylanders of their ability to claim personal tax credits like the EITC.

My team and I are proud of the work we accomplished this session and grateful to the General Assembly for their support! We look forward to doing even more to support Marylanders throughout the year. Onwards!

My best,

Brooke
