Dear John,
Workers in Canada — across all income levels — pay higher personal income tax rates than workers in the United States.
A new study published by the Fraser Institute today finds that recent personal income tax rate increases at the federal and provincial levels have helped widen the income tax rate gap between the U.S. and Canada.
For example, among 61 provinces and states, at an annual income of $50,000, the top 10 highest combined personal income tax rates are in 9 Canada provinces.
With all provinces being in the top 15.
Our high-income tax rates can deter professionals, entrepreneurs and business owners from working and investing in Canada.
See the numbers here, and be sure to help spread this important news on social media!
Sincerely,
Niels Veldhuis
President
