Effective date: Jan. 1, 2024

Summary: DHS increased the annual dollar limit for specialized equipment and supplies from $3,909 to $10,000 per waiver year. This change applies to Brain Injury (BI), Community Alternative Care (CAC) and Community Access for Disability Inclusion (CADI) waiver service agreements that begin or renew on or after Jan. 1, 2024.

Summary: SMRT temporarily suspended the policy that lead agencies must complete a MnCHOICES assessment 150 days before the SMRT referral date or schedule a MnCHOICES assessment to occur within 60 days of the referral date.

Summary: On March 28, 2024, DHS published a bulletin to clarify when federal and state law considers community residential services and crisis respite services to be foster care placement.
