More youth worker's check in sessions added
Hello John,
On behalf of NYCI, I’d like to share a message of solidarity and support with you, and with the young people, staff and volunteers of our member organisations and the wider youth work sector during this new and difficult time for all of us.
Support ([link removed][UNIQID])
It’s important to acknowledge that we are all operating in a new environment which presents both challenges and opportunities, and to recognise that this is a difficult time for both young people and adults across the youth work sector.
It changes the way we all must work and live. With that in mind, we’re bringing together resources, training and advice ([link removed][UNIQID]) to support you through this time.
Not all equal when it comes to online or offline responses
It has been heartening to see the innovative responses to support young people, staff and volunteers across the sector. However, we must also appreciate that we are not all in an equal position, in terms of capacity and access, when it comes to online or offline responses.
At NYCI we will work in solidarity with you, with our members and the wider youth work sector to support young people within a youth work context that remains both voluntary in its nature and remains firmly within the principles and values of youth work: participation, empowerment, reflecting our mutual respect for each other, ensuring boundaries and promoting social responsibility.
Following our youth worker check-in sessions ([link removed][UNIQID]) , my colleagues will be in touch with further guidance and support around digital youth work, self-care and more in the coming days and weeks, and I will continue to provide you with government and wider sectoral updates.
In the meantime, as ever, we'd remind you of the current public health measures encouraging us all to stay home to stay safe and well ([link removed][UNIQID]) this weekend.
Kind regards,
Mary

P.S.
Our initial Zoom check-in sessions for youth workers ([link removed][UNIQID]) sold out in a matter of hours, so we have added further slots next week ([link removed][UNIQID]) .
