Friends,
I am filled with such gratitude for the many individuals who are on the front lines of this pandemic, reassuring us with their skills, knowledge, and professionalism: our physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and so many others within the healthcare profession.
We also owe gratitude to the numerous people who continue to keep the most essential functions of our society in place: grocery store employees, restaurant workers, delivery drivers, housekeeping staff, farm workers, care providers, and many, many others.
We've all had to make adjustments to this new normal.
Over the last few weeks, my team has transitioned to working completely online as we continue to serve our constituents. Our days are spent managing constituent requests for assistance, seeking out answers and support for those who contact us, sharing information as quickly as possible so that you remain informed, and finding ways to navigate this crisis.
Today, I’m reaching out to you with a challenging request: I ask you to contribute, only if you can, to ensure that we can continue to pay our hard-working staff and cover the essential costs of staying connected with you. Will you chip in whatever you’re able?

During the General Assembly, our team worked hard with our colleagues in the State Senate and the House of Delegates to pass a wide range of legislation to impact and improve the lives of all Virginians. I’m particularly proud of my office’s work to pass the following:
Environmental Justice Act, SB 406, requires state agencies to monitor the impact of its policies and projects on communities of color, indigenous communities, and low-income communities
Standards of Quality, SB 910, provides funding for more teachers to support students with limited English proficiency.
Public Institutions of Higher Education, SB 935, allows those who meet eligibility standards to receive in-state tuition regardless of immigration status.
Office of New Americans, SB 991, establishes the Office of New Americans within the Department of Social Services, to promote and assist immigrant integration within the Commonwealth.
As our team transitions to a virtual office, online contributions are more important than ever.
We’ve canceled all in-person events, and transitioned many of them online. Raising money online is the safest, most impactful way you can continue to support the important work our team is doing.
Last year, grassroots supporters made it possible for us to flip this district — I hope we can continue to count on you. Can you make a contribution to ensure that my office can continue to do its work? Even a $5 donation goes a long way.
