Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The MN Legislature came back into session Tuesday last week and there are approximately six weeks remaining before the constitutionally required adjournment. As we progress through the remainder of the 2024 session, the Democrat-trifecta will bring their parade of omnibus bills to the full Senate Floor. Several omnibus bills were voted upon last week.

In addition to being unconstitutional due to containing multiple subjects, the omnibus bills by the Democrat-trifecta fail to solve the issues Democrats caused rushing poorly written legislation into law last year. The Democrat-trifecta is simply doubling down on the very policies causing businesses and families to increasingly flee Minnesota.

Education Policy

The Education Policy omnibus bill was brought to the Senate Floor Tuesday last week and contained zero provisions to bring relief to the serious struggles schools are facing following the over 60 new mandates the Democrat-trifecta imposed on schools in 2023. The new mandates thrust upon teachers and school administrators did little more than make already tough jobs more difficult. Educators across the state are pleading the Democrat-trifecta stop increasing mandates and instead allow locally elected school board members to decide the best policies for their own communities. Below is a letter from several education organizations asking the Democrat-trifecta to keep new mandates out of their education omnibus bill this year.

Unfortunately, the testimony of educators across Minnesota continues to fall on Democrat-trifecta deaf ears. The Democrat majority rejected Republican amendments to empower local control of school districts. Republicans proposed an amendment to fix the issues caused by Democrats that would allow school boards to divert funds tied to specific mandates, to other areas that suit the needs of their district. Democrats were unwilling to compromise on their one-size-fits-all approach and defeated the amendment.

Agriculture

Agriculture is a subject area where bipartisan consensus should be easy to achieve. However, Thursday last week Democrats passed their Agriculture Omnibus Bill after shockingly voting to defeat a Republican amendment to bring transparency to bug ingredients in our food.

Use of insects in food for protein to feed is a rapidly growing trend. Governments around the world, along with Democrats and left-leaning organizations in the U.S., are pushing western countries to increase social acceptance for eating insects due to the supposed environmental damage caused by traditional agricultural production. Republicans offered an amendment to require these "foods of the future" containing insects to be labeled indicating the intentional use of insects as an ingredient to inform consumers of what they are eating. The vote took unusually long as some rural Democrats likely supported the amendment and were thinking about how they should vote, but ultimately caved to party leadership and defeated the Republican amendment.

Labor

Minnesota businesses have been suffering under Democrat-trifecta control, and fleeing Minnesota in favor of better business environments in other states. Instead of addressing the issues caused by the 2023 legislative session, the Democrat majority used their Labor Omnibus Policy bill passed Tuesday last week to introduce even more restraints onto Minnesota's struggling economy.

Democrats choose to include several provisions that will kill job opportunities at the lower end of the pay spectrum that often provide teenagers with their first jobs. This bill allows unelected bureaucrats at the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry to raise the state's minimum wage by up to 5% per year, and repealed a provision that allows businesses to pay lower rates to employees under 18. The Democrat provisions are only going to create more issues for small businesses struggling to survive following the Democrat economic lockdown in 2020, which has resulted in Minnesota losing over 10,000 jobs since.

It's not just businesses Democrats targeted in this bill, but also the rights of individuals. A Democrat provision in the bill from a far-left, Socialist endorsed Senator will prevent many homeowners across the state from performing any electrical work on their own property even for something as minor as changing a light switch. In Other News

As the Democrat-trifecta continues transforming public schools into moral cesspools, parents continue pulling their children out.

Parents continue pulling their children from Democrat-controlled miserable Minneapolis failed schools for good reason.

The Democrat-trifecta's focus on fake racism and transvestites over ensuring high academic achievement is destroying the education system in the once great State of Minnesota.

Democrats on the Education Finance Committee brought a teacher's union representative last week who asserted teacher pay models are "racist and sexist." I asked the teacher’s union representative why the union deliberately negotiated racist and sexist pay for teachers. The exchange can be viewed at the following link here.

Zero shock the Democrat-trifecta supports racism while falsely claiming to oppose discrimination.

Do you believe the Democrat-trifecta will prevent Excel Energy from hiking your electric bill?

Radicals push to tear up the freeway between Minneapolis and Saint Paul believing no negative impact to traffic will result.

LEADING CAUSE OF INFLATION: There's no such thing as 'free money' nor 'no strings-attached cash' yet Democrats print, tax, and give away money to buy votes directly causing the inflation pain EVERYONE is feeling.

Higher cost of living & lower quality of life is the new normal in the Biden / Walz economy.

This is the sick, devaluing-life path assisted suicide leads to. The Democrat-trifeca does not care though as Democrats continue pushing assisted suicide in our once great state.

Prioritizing state sovereignty, the 1977 MN Legislature enacted Chapter 42 statute to regulate weather modification and activity/substances in the atmosphere. Unfortunately, 1999 Legislature repealed the law. As a strong fiduciary of the environment and defender of 10th Amendment States’ rights, I firmly believe protections are needed to ensure Minnesota sovereignty and our beautiful outdoors and the reason I chief authored SF 4630.

Chemicals from solar panels are a threat to a clean environment.

The ever rising cost of living under the Democrat-trifecta is bankrupting hardworking individuals and families across the once great State of Minnesota.

Data breach

Our water systems are targeted for attack while Biden and Democrats play friendly-footsie with Iran and China.

The Democrat-trifecta continues pushing minimum wage increases, paid leave, and other expensive mandates forcing businesses to further adopt automation which doesn't require unemployment insurance and don't call in sick.

Office building vacancies continue to grow as businesses flee downtown Minneapolis. Once Southwest Light Rail is complete, Democrats will have wasted billions building a train to an empty city.
