Over the last three cycles, together and alongside so many, our movement has been instrumental in building real power in the House through upset elections to usher in some of the most progressive, working-class representatives Congress has seen in our lifetime. Representatives like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Cori Bush, Summer Lee, and Jamaal Bowman.

These last six months have devastatingly highlighted exactly why the work in electing this core group matters and how deeply connected it is to the fight for poor, working, and marginalized people at home and around the world. Together more than anything, these incumbents are not only the moral compass of this movement in Congress, but some of the sharpest teeth behind it too.

Every member of the Squad is up for re-election this year, and five of these young, working-class, Black and brown progressives are facing serious threats to their U.S. House seats: Jamaal Bowman, Cori Bush, Summer Lee, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib.

We can’t afford to lose a single member of our progressive bloc in Congress at a moment like this. We’re facing a challenge like never before with AIPAC, their Republican megadonors, and other right-wing groups slated to spend over $100 million against the Squad because they are threatened by the progressive movement they represent.
