A new review by Accountable.US revealed that Leonard Leo, Charles Koch and their conservative billionaire networks have poured over $55 million into groups helping to create a GOP "government-in-waiting" ready made for a second Trump administration.

Here’s the breakdown:

Since 2021, Leonard Leo’s network (and the groups that they fund) have funneled over $50 million to groups advising Project 2025 – the effort laying the groundwork for a potential Trump transition if he wins the election in November.

They’re weaving a complicated path of donations to hide the sources, and ultimately create a mega-million dollar operation to put a government in place that would put loyalty to Trump first.

For example, in 2022, the donor-advised fund DonorsTrust, which received more than $181 million from Leo-backed groups from 2019 to 2022, contributed over $21.1 million to 40 organizations advising Project 2025, including the America First Legal Foundation, which is led by Stephen Miller, a former Trump White House adviser.

It also contributed nearly $20 million to 36 nonprofit organizations who now advise Project 2025 back in 2021, including the Teneo Network, the Conservative Partnership Institute and the FreedomWorks Foundation.

Oil billionaire Charles Koch’s network also funneled over $4.4 million in 2022 to organizations on Project 2025’s advisory board via its donor conduit, Stand Together Trust.

John, this is a stark reminder of the powerful network of special interest groups that’s being bankrolled by wealthy elites like Charles Koch and Leonard Leo.

No one elected Leonard Leo. No one elected Charles Koch. But they control massive dark money war chests — and they are using those resources to create real influence in a potential second Trump administration.
