Today at 3:28 pm, a total solar eclipse will pass over northern Maine, something our state hasn’t experienced since 1963.

During these few minutes, Mainers and visitors will be able to look up into the Sun’s corona and see one of the most beautiful sights you’ve ever seen. No photograph will be able to capture the stunning beauty of the total solar eclipse, you must see it for yourself.

Whether or not you’re into astronomy, we have to admit… this is pretty amazing. We are grateful for the thousands of people who will be coming to our district to see this incredible phenomenon, patronizing small businesses from Rangeley to Houlton. For Mainers who live in the totality, we’ll have the opportunity to see it right from our own backyards.

Apparently even the moon knows how important Maine’s second district is. And while we’ve got you, we hope you will chip in to help us protect this competitive seat.
