Friends,
After Rep. Bergman filed his petitions to be on the ballot, on social media, he posted his intention was to “beat radical far-left Democrats” with his “conservative message”.
Aside from the mudslinging, here's the difference between our campaigns, and what's fundamentally wrong about that perspective from a sitting representative:
I'm not in this race to serve just the people on my side. Congresspeople are elected to represent the entire constituency — left, right, and everything in between, not just half of it.
Bergman is more interested in politicking for power than service.
My message of advocating for jobs with livable wages, universal healthcare, affordable housing, education, childcare, energy independence and addressing climate change isn’t "radical"; it’s essential.
It's a message of commonsense, reason and sanity, one that fits our unique district. We’re inviting people of all parties to be part of this rural movement.
And, every week I hear from more and more of Bergman’s past-supporters about different ways they feel duped.
Your contributions do not help me beat down on all conservative voters who have been misguided into casting a ballot for our GOP representative. Donations help me reach them so we can defeat one Republican in the House not working on behalf of any of us.
I am running for office to improve the lives of every resident in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, Bergman voters included.
Louisiana legislators can focus on representing Jack Bergman.
Thank you, friends, for supporting that cause.
Onward,
—Bob
