The American Founders thought that the proper role of the Supreme Court is to apply the Constitution.
But progressives see the Court differently. They want activist judges to legislate from the bench. Do you agree that the role of the Supreme Court is to apply the Constitution as it is written and NOT to make laws or advance a particular policy agenda? YES NO Even worse, progressives dismayed by recent Supreme Court decisions want to “pack” the bench with additional justices to advance a preferred policy agenda.
As Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) put it in a Boston Globe op-ed: “To restore balance and integrity to a broken institution, Congress must expand the Supreme Court by four or more seats.”
