John,
Today, a historic eclipse will cut across the state, with total darkness falling on the path of totality.
Totality is something we have been grappling with for many years. All or nothing. One idea blotting out the next. Darkness, hopelessness blocking out the light.
Fund grassroots movement
However, you see what you seek. Today, many people will swarm the path of totality to find the darkness. That’s fine for an eclipse, but what we need to do in our movement is to seek out the light.
We need to be committed to organizing. Mobilizing. Seeing the light in each other. Making room and space in our practice and politics to build us, collectively, to be the biggest and strongest movement we can be to win for all our communities, and to defend those wins over time.
None of this is easy, and we’d like to just be focused on organizing and mobilizing feminists to defeat fascists. However, we acknowledge that part of what we must build to win is financial resources. Can we count on your support today?
In light,
Rachel O'Leary Carmona
