Get ready for turkey hunting season by patterning your shotgun at MDIFW's Summerhaven State Range located in Augusta. Determine how your shotgun patterns with the shotshell you will use at a given distance. This will ensure ethical and more successful shot placement on the hunt. No two shotguns will shoot identical patterns, and additional factors such as choke and shot brand, size, and type will impact the pattern.
Sign up for a one hour time slot for hands on training in a small class size to gain comfort and confidence. Time slots are available on Saturday April 13th, Sunday April 21st, and Friday April 26th. Please bring your firearm and several rounds of lead target loads, #6 through #9 shot to practice with, and a few loads that you plan to hunt with to ensure the pattern stays true.
