Despite overwhelming public support and the tireless efforts of lawmakers, the Governor has chosen to veto crucial pieces of legislation that would profoundly impact our citizens' lives. Time and time again, we've seen him stand in the way of progress. Last week he has refused to sign bills such as the assault weapons ban and the safe storage of firearms, he vetoed a bill creating a thoughtful and public-health-focused legal marijuana marketplace, and even halted our bill raising the minimum wage.
We cannot let one person's veto stand in the way of the progress we have fought so hard to bring to Virginia.
