FL-27 Newsletter Vol. 118, Issue #59 Dear Friends/Amigos, My office partnered with Miami Dade College to throw a Job Fair to connect anyone in Florida's 27th Congressional District to an employer in our community, and I am pleased to report that it was a major success! Nearly 2,000 constituents and more than 50 employers were in attendance in our biggest job fair yet. I also announced a historic federal investment in Miami Dade College at the fair, but more details below. There are less than 2 weeks until the deadline to turn in your submission to the Congressional Art Competition! Read more about the details and rules of the competition below. It is an honor to serve you in Congress. Let me know how I can better serve you by calling my office at (202) 225-3931 with your opinion. Sincerely/Atentamente, María Elvira Salazar U.S. Representative (FL-27) MY JOB FAIR AT MIAMI DADE COLLEGE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS! This last week, my office planned a Job Fair in the heart of Little Havana, at Miami Dade College's Eduardo Padrón Campus. The event was a huge success! Nearly 2,000 residents of Florida's 27th Congressional District attended, and more than 50 employers from the public and private sectors were ready to answer questions about potential employment. Not only did I get to attend this Job Fair, but I also announced $3 million in federal investments that I secured in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 for Miami Dade College's renovation of the historic Federal Dyer Courthouse building. I want to thank President Madeline Pumariega for allowing us to use the campus for our Job Fair, and for being an amazing local partner in our community. Read more about the event here.
