Dear John,
How is your heart right now? What needs tending to? How is your pivot practice going?
As we've said before, we can't cultivate local peace economies alone. One source of support is our bi-weekly community calls. Please join us for our next Local Peace Economy Community Call on Wednesday, April 10th at 5:00 PT/8:00 ET <[link removed]>.
<[link removed]>RSVP now! <[link removed]>
During this call, we’ll be sharing about our learnings from the recent Bioneers <[link removed]> conference - what did we learn about local peace economies there that can support you on your own journey? We'll also hear from you about what learnings you have been harvesting as you've been cultivating local peace economies in your community.
If you weren't able to be with us during our last meeting, we hope you can join us this time. You can catch up on our last call here <[link removed]>. You can also watch the recording of our introduction to the Local Peace Economy Workbook during our first meeting here <[link removed]>.
Local Peace Economy Community Calls take place every other Wednesday at 5:00 PT/8:00 ET. Newcomers are always welcome. Stay up to date on all of CODEPINK’s events here <[link removed]>.
Next Community Call Topic: Harvesting Learnings
<[link removed]>
We're constantly learning and growing in our local peace economy journeys as we encounter new parts of ourselves and our communities. As we say in the beginning of The Local Peace Economy Workbook <[link removed]>, reflection and commitment are important in this process. What methods of reflection have supported you on your journey so far? What have been some of your key learnings as you've practiced pivoting away from the war economy and cultivating your local peace economy?
Jodie and Emily will also share some of their learnings from the recent Bioneers <[link removed]*xyk7pu*_ga*MjA0NjM5NzE0MS4xNzA3MjA1MTk0*_ga_622YBG42V2*MTcwNzI0ODcwMi4yLjAuMTcwNzI0ODcwMi4wLjAuMA> conference in Berkeley, CA. We look forward to learning with and from you on Wednesday!
Pivot to Peace
Rushing to Wisdom
Rushing pulls us away from the present moment, keeping us too busy and frantic to see the ways the war economy is present in our lives and the ways we are supporting it. There are moments when urgency is needed, but that is different from the rushing that drives us into the war economy. Rushing takes us away from our intuition and capacities to build wisdom through reflection along our journeys.
Where do you find yourself rushing in your life? Who or what is it a response to? How can slowing down and being in relationship to the moment serve you, your community, and the future more beautifully? How can you open to valuing your own wisdom and intuition more?

Inspiration for the Journey
The local peace economy is all around us. Stories of the local peace economy inspire us and teach us how we can create a culture of peace together. On the Local Peace Economy Wiki <[link removed]>, we’ve been gathering stories of local peace economy projects. Check out this story <[link removed]> about why yoga teachers say a practice that slows us down is essential for navigating these challenging times.
