DEAR FRIENDS,

Today was a hectic day!

There was a cockfight down in Alabama. The emergency services numbers were ALL DOWN. Across multiple counties! We tried everything that we could think of FOR HOURS before the system was finally restored and we could report the illegal cockfight and blood-shed. Luckily, the police were quick to respond to this location. We are still waiting to here how many citations or arrests were made.

There was also a Mexican-style rodeo in Ogle County, Illinois. (the same location as last weekend.) The event coordinators had only 40 steers. 40 steers to be run relentlessly for 8 hours straight. Well over 400 RUNS THROUGHOUT THIS DAY!!!

We had to watch heartbreaking scenes of exhausted animals unable to get back to their feet while being further abused but rodeo idiots jumping on their backs to try to get them moving, while only succeeding in stressing them more.

We applaud Ogle County for having Animal Control on-site at this event. However, these animals were still EXTREMELY OVERWORKED AND SUBJECTED TO DANGEROUS LEVELS OF EXHAUSTION.
