In recent weeks, MAGA Republicans have ramped up their efforts to take back the Senate. They’ve already booked more than $130 million to flood battleground states with TV ads — the most they have ever reserved this early on.

I couldn’t stand to let Mitch McConnell’s allies tear down our vulnerable Democratic Senators without a fight. Voters deserve to know the truth.

So after talking it through with our team, we chose to increase our advertising budget — for digital and TV — and reserve more ads as soon as possible. The money wasn’t in the budget yet, but I gave the OK anyway.

I won’t beat around the bush: This was a really tough call. It’s a huge risk not having the budget — but I know our grassroots supporters can help us make up for this gap. The only way we can defend our Senate majority is by investing in battleground states.
