Look, here’s the brutal truth:

We needed to collect 25,000 individual contributions from grassroots Democrats before yesterday’s FEC deadline to keep up with the Republican attacks on our Democratic Senate candidates — but our finance team is saying we fell short by exactly 1,326 donations.

This is tough news to swallow, especially since Mitch McConnell’s super PAC network just booked $67 million in negative TV ads in key Senate races.

So, we’re extending the deadline internally in the hopes we can catch up in the next 48 hours. If we can close at least some of this fundraising gap before Friday, we might not have to cut our budget.
