In this fortnight’s edition, the Hon Dr Gary Johns discusses the latest effects of COVID-19 on the charity sector and ACNC operations.
Annual Information Statement extensions
Last week, the Hon Dr Gary Johns granted a blanket extension to charities whose 2019 Annual Information Statement (AIS) is due between 12 March and 30 August 2020.
These charities will now need to submit their AIS by 31 August 2020.

'Recently I’ve heard from a lot of people in the charitable sector about some of the challenges facing them as the nation battles the COVID-19 virus. I know a lot of charities, and your staff, are doing it tough right now as you continue to give a helping hand to those who need it most.
