One of our top state senate targets in the elections happening right now in Virginia just used her Facebook page to blame rape victims and survivors for being "naive and unprepared."
Far-right Republican State Senator Amanda Chase, who has ranted against "evil" liberals and accuses Democrats of supporting "the murder of innocent babies," just reached a new low (even for her), responding to a comment on her Facebook page with the statement, “It’s those who are naive and unprepared that end [up] raped.”
PFAW's working to flip Chase's seat from red to blue.
This is one of only TWO seats we need to flip to switch majority control of the state senate from Republican to Democrat.
Republican Senator Amanda Chase is a pro-gun, anti-choice extremist. She's one of the state legislature's most vocal opponents of the Equal Rights Amendment – which only needs one state to be ratified. And Virginia is the most likely state if we can elect Democratic majorities! But despite her opposition to the actual rights of women's, Sen. Chase made headlines recently over a dispute over a parking space, berating capitol police for violating women's rights when they did not let her park in a restricted spot in addition to accusing them of being "democrat operatives."
Our early-endorsed candidate in this state Senate district, Democrat Amanda Pohl, won her primary and now we're fighting for her in the general to unseat right-wing survivor-blaming Sen. Chase!
Amanda Pohl is one of the amazing young progressive candidates we're supporting with our Next Up Victory Fund and her victory this year will be instrumental in turning Virginia blue, stopping extreme Republican gerrymandering in this vital swing state, and kickstarting a national blue wave for 2020!!!
AND the Republican incumbent she's running to unseat is a Radical Right extremist!
