It’s April and that means it’s allergy season! As spring unfolds, it brings with it blooming flowers and warmer days, but also those all-too-common symptoms like a runny nose and itchy eyes.
In fact, recent analysis by the New York Times shows that spring allergy season is starting 20 days earlier than it did three decades ago because of climate change!
This issue is obviously linked to our air quality. A new report shows that U.S. air quality actually got worse in 2023 due to factors such as wildfire smoke and burning fossil fuels, which is only compounding an already rough and itchy allergy season.
Some cities like Milwaukee, WI have witnessed up to a 50% increase in unhealthy air levels. Between this and allergies, it’s getting harder and harder to breathe.
Thanks to your help in 2022, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 118th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand. You can click here to only get our most important messages, or you can unsubscribe.
