John,

Last week, the House majority passed a bipartisan $2 trillion coronavirus relief package. This pro-worker package includes billions of dollars to support hospitals, students, and working families.

President Trump has already signed this relief package into law, but there is still more work to do. As things develop rapidly, no one knows for sure how long this pandemic could last. According to the Pew Research Center, two-thirds of American adults would feel uncomfortable going to a polling location. That's why Suzan introduced a key provision in the relief package that will help states prepare for the upcoming November election.

Suzan is determined to protect every American's right to vote - while keeping everyone safe. One of the provisions she pushed for in the relief package is $400 million for expanding vote by mail, early voting, and other measures to reduce health risks from voting in person and to protect our elections. This is a strong first step, but many experts believe it could cost much more for the entire country to move to mail-in voting.

Washington State was at the forefront of expanding access to mail-in and absentee voting. Now, it's on the rest of the country to strengthen voter protection laws and ensure every person can make their voice heard this November - no matter what. If you agree, please add your name.

Suzan helped introduce a bill that requires states and localities to create and administer plans to operate their elections in the event of quarantines. It also requires states to offer ALL voters the ability to vote by absentee ballot if a quarter of the states have declared an emergency related to COVID-19.

As our country bands together to combat COVID-19 in the spring, we can't forget about the challenges up ahead in the fall. The November election will be one of the most important elections of our lifetime.

By fighting for the funding to protect voters, Suzan is making sure individuals that are highly susceptible to contracting COVID-19 won't be in danger on Election Day. We need to act responsibly and allow for absentee and mail-in voting to keep our communities safe. Add your name to Suzan's petition now if you agree.
