John -
Phasing out fossil fuels is within our grasp. Last week, New England
decided to go completely coal-free. And it’s all thanks to our friends at
the No Coal No Gas campaign, an initiative launched by 350 New Hampshire
and Climate Disobedience Center, who just shut down New England’s last
remaining coal plant.
That’s right: The entire region of New England will be coal-free, and it’s
a direct result of years of direct and strategic action from 350NH and its
partners!
Now, the coal plant’s owner, Granite Shore Power, is forced to make a plan
to bring clean renewable energy to a community that has been burdened by
coal for too long.
But the fight isn’t over yet.
The No Coal No Gas campaign is mobilizing right now to push for a faster
transition to fossil fuels locally and throughout New England — and they
need our urgent help to build on their recent victory striking down coal.

high-polluting, fossil fuel “peaker” power plants at times of high energy
demand? No Coal No Gas needs as many signatures as possible before they
deliver their petition on Monday!

The campaign has shown that New Hampshire does not need fossil fuels to
meet its energy needs and is ready to transition to clean energy,
including at times of peak energy demand.
But millions of dollars from their electricity bills are still going to
make sure fossil fuels stay on the grid.
[ [link removed] ]By lending your voice today, you can help move the transition to
renewable energy further along in New England and help the No Coal No Gas
campaign build on its recent victory.
Thank you for taking action!
