This is a big moment for our campaign

After announcing our re-election campaign this week, I’m reflecting on what it took to get here, and the work we still have left to do.

My mother Sandy Pressley — may she rest in power — was a proud Democrat, a tenants rights activist, and super voter who took me to vote with her every election. She’d bring me into that voting booth and say to me: “Never forget that we, the people, are powerful.” I believed her then, and I still do now. I believe in the power of us.

So every day, I keep my mother’s words with me as I show up to do the Work for our collective liberation. Work that helped deliver student debt cancellation to millions of borrowers and provided marginalized people with access to economic freedom. Work that is effective, but must be unrelenting. This re-election campaign is about building on these wins to deliver equity, justice, and healing for all. Abortion justice. Racial justice. Housing justice. Healthcare justice. We know we can make these policies a reality if we continue fighting for them.

When it comes to people-powered movements like ours, every action — big or small — adds up to create real, bold, transformative change.

Six years ago it was small, grassroots donations that spread our message far and wide.
