In one closed North African country, desert-like conditions make clean water difficult to find for many people. Over half the population lives without access to basic items, healthcare, or education. Largely considered one of the most unreached places on earth, 99.7 percent of people have never heard about Jesus.

But thanks to people like you, the local Unto® team is breaking up dry ground. Last year they drilled or repaired 11 wells for people who previously had little access to clean water — or the message of hope.

As the local team worked to drill or repair each well, they built relationships with the people. In one village they met Sidi*. He noticed the team’s kindness and how they provided his community with water, expecting nothing in return.

Previously, Sidi had drawn water from a well drilled by workers from the majority religion. But to use the water, he was required to join their religious community and engage at their local religious center.

When the Unto team drilled a new well in Sidi’s village, he saw the difference having access to clean water made for his community. He noticed how the team expressed the kindness of Jesus to those around them. And he grew interested in learning more about Him.

Local team members built a relationship with Sidi and shared about eternal hope. Sidi decided to leave the majority religion and respond to the message. The local team continues to follow up with him and help him grow in his new faith.

In places like this one, the gift of clean water is the only reason ministry is allowed to continue. It allows our staff teams to build credibility, establish relationships, and share about Jesus when the time is right. Thank you for providing people living in the toughest places on earth with access to safe, clean water and the message of hope!
