I am continuing to coordinate with local, state, and federal health officials to make sure we are doing everything we can to mitigate the spread of the virus and keep our families safe. During such uncertain times as these, it's important we all stay up to date on the most recent news regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.

Here are some critical resources and important updates you may find useful:

• Earlier this week, the Governor issued a stay-at-home order. All non-essential travel is now prohibited. For more information about what kind of travel remains permitted, please go here: [link removed]-(COVID-19).pdf.

• Public playgrounds and sports courts in the city are temporarily closed and activities at the James River are limited. No swimming, sunbathing, or large gatherings will be allowed. Citizens may still use the river area for exercise.

• Richmond Public Schools are closed for the remainder of the school year. If you have any questions regarding this change, need at-home learning resources, or access to meal distribution, please go here: [link removed].

• I am urging all landlords to be understanding during this public health crisis. No one should lose their home during a pandemic. I have coordinated with the Sheriff and her team, and no evictions will be executed during this state of emergency. I have also asked the Governor ([link removed]) to explore forbearance options for mortgages to help ease the burden on renters and owners

• The City of Richmond is no longer enforcing parking violations due to COVID-19. Please note you can still get a ticket for illegal parking: [link removed].

• Small businesses and non-profit organizations located throughout the state can now apply for a loan of up to $2 million to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other expenses. If you are a small business owner, you can go here for the latest updates regarding COVID-19: [link removed].

Right now, countless health care, sanitary, and food workers are on the frontlines providing their services through this pandemic. Without their sacrifice, we would not have the support we need to continue with our daily lives during such unprecedented times. I want to say thank you to these workers and other unsung heroes who are putting their health and safety on the line for the community.
