Shareholder Resolutions

Dear Friend,

In these increasingly challenging times, while corporations are getting bailed out by the government, we must ensure that corporations are also being responsible and sustainable, for the sake of all people and the planet.

Perhaps you are already involved in neighborhood organizing, recycling, composting, buying fair trade products, or using a community development bank or credit union. If you own stock directly (not in a mutual fund), there’s another step you can take to promote the well-being of workers, communities, and the environment.

That step is to vote your proxy ballots. Are you voting yours?

More than 400 shareholder resolutions have been filed for 2020, putting key issues in front of investors and corporate management. Here's a sampling of some of the issues and companies.

If you’re concerned about corporate impacts on climate, human rights, fair pay, deforestation, or corporate funding for lobbying and elections – be sure to look closely at your proxy ballots. There may be resolutions you don’t want to miss voting on!

Green America is very pleased to sponsor this report; check out our article in the report on the need to protect the shareholder resolution process in order to hold corporations accountable.

We’re also pleased to highlight for you some of the companies and issues in this spring’s proxy season. So, if you’re a shareholder, when your proxy ballots arrive, look for resolutions you want to support and vote your values!

Your vote sends an important message to Corporate America.

Thank you for voting your shareholder proxies for people and the planet!
