Dear John,
If there’s a silver lining to Trump’s incompetence, it’s that he wasn’t able to accomplish much of his extreme agenda while in office. But a collection of extremist groups have a concrete plan to make a second term ruthlessly efficient. Their plan would fundamentally change almost every aspect of American life, and it is now laid out end-to-end in an 887-page tome known as “Project 2025.”
The Project includes a detailed guide, written by some 400 contributors (including former Trump staffers) and compiled by the Heritage Foundation. The AP was not exaggerating when they called it a “plan to dismantle the US government and replace it with Trump’s vision.”
This plan would transform every federal agency, from the Department of Justice to the FDA, into a tool to enforce their extreme beliefs on everyone else. They hope to use these agencies to bypass Congress and strip reproductive freedoms from Americans, ban LGBTQ+ people from existing openly in public, and give big corporations free rein to exploit workers, pollute the land, and poison the public. They even want to deregulate and privatize the disposal of nuclear waste. What could go wrong?
The scope of Project 2025 is broad and affects every area of American life. The project calls for an emptying out of every federal agency, much like Trump’s recent takeover of the Republican National Committee, and filling every position with hardcore MAGA loyalists.
They see no value in non-partisan competency and professional experience. Unquestioning allegiance to Trump is what they want.
We must build public support against this right-wing government takeover. Go on the record against Project 2025 today.
In addition to the hollowing out of every segment of the federal government, Project 2025 also advocates for centralizing executive power in the presidency by removing independent checks and balances between agencies.
The freedom to breathe the air, drink the water, enjoy bodily autonomy, and to be fairly represented in public life are all diminished according to the right-wing extremists' plan.
It’s an 887-page document. The list above goes on and on. And that’s why we need to start fighting, exposing, and defeating this plan today.
