John —
Our campaign may be doing things a little differently right now — gathering online instead of in person — but as I’ve been saying to folks during our virtual events, thank you for staying involved.
Together, we will get through this, and I am so grateful for each of you.
I’m especially thankful for your help over the past few weeks: whether you sent a kind note on social media, joined us for a virtual event, or opened our emails and contributed a few hard-earned dollars to help us hit our first quarterly goal of this critical election year. Thank you.
I know this is a difficult and uncertain time. I’m grateful that you are doing what you can to keep our communities safe and healthy — practicing social distancing, washing your hands, and checking in with your loved ones. At the same time, I’m thankful for your support, which has allowed our campaign to keep going and building on the momentum we have seen since launching this journey together.
John, we’re all in this together — and while I may not be able to travel the state right now, we’re still doing what we can to connect with people from all over. Hosting virtual events, sending messages just like this one, and having conversations over the phone.
Like so many of you, my family and I are sequestered at home taking this crisis seriously. And just like you, we’re a little anxious about the challenges our country faces.
But I’m also very hopeful and optimistic because we’re hearing amazing stories about how folks are taking care of their neighbors, friends, and families. And, of course, we’re incredibly grateful for the public health workers and first responders on the frontlines making sure North Carolinians are safe.
These stories should keep our spirits high and our duty to one another strong. That’s the only way we’ll get through this — by taking care of each other along the way, and continuing to serve as our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers.
Thank you for everything. Stay safe, be well, and I look forward to being in touch.
All the best,
Cal
