Rebecca Delahunt Testifies Against Mandated Healthcare Coverage of "Gender-Affirming Care" |
HF2607 mandates that all medical/mental health plans in Minnesota cover “gender-affirming care.” The bill was amended this week to exempt religious organizations. Non-profits/closely-held businesses with religious objections can receive an “accommodation.” For employees of those organizations, insurance providers would offer it as a separate benefit. This amendment is a good step, but it does not address the problem that this bill further normalizes harmful, irreversible “gender-affirming care,” which is harming Minnesotans, particularly minors. |

Renee Carlson Testifies on Mandated Healthcare Coverage of Abortion |
Renee Carlson, General Counsel of True North Legal and Minnesota Family Council, testified yesterday in the MN House Health Finance and Policy Committee on HF 4053, an insurance mandate on abortion. As initially introduced, this mandate would force employers whose deeply held religious beliefs forbid them from being complicit in abortion, to pay for abortion.
An amendment was added to the bill that does a little to protect the religious freedom of employers who offer health insurance, but this is still a bill that attempts to mandate that abortion – which ends the life of a child – be covered in Minnesota health insurance plans. |

The 2024 session is in full swing, and progressives have been open about their plans to try and advance the so-called Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) as soon as November 2024.
This bill has already passed the Minnesota Senate and will be considered by the Minnesota House.
Now is the time to send a message to your legislators telling them to oppose the ERA. The alert below will help you send a message to your Minnesota House member respectfully sharing your concerns.
By banning "discrimination" on the basis of "sexual orientation, gender identity or expression," the ERA would allow males to enter female-only accommodations such as sports teams and changing facilities.
