Dear neighbor,
I’m pleased to share with you that Congress passed and President Biden signed into law government funding bills that include over $11.5 million in federal funds for 15 local community projects. I was honored to advocate for these projects, which will strengthen public safety and emergency response, protect our environment, help address the homelessness and housing crises, support our neighbors with disabilities, and more.
Here are the community projects receiving federal funds in Fiscal Year 2024:
- $1,000,000 for the Rolling Hills Landslide Mitigation Project
- $963,000 for the Hermosa Beach Real Time Crime Center
- $963,000 for the UCLA Quantum Information Science Hub
- $200,000 for the Downtown Lomita Stormwater Project
- $200,000 for the Peck Avenue Storm Drain Infrastructure Improvement Project
- $959,752 for the City of Beverly Hills Water Resiliency Project
- $959,752 for the Culver City Stormwater Diversion Project
- $469,100 for the Cloverfield Services Center Interim Housing Program Renovations
- $850,000 for the Columbia Park Water Conservation Project
- $1,000,000 for the California Abilities Network (ICAN) Individuals With Disabilities Workforce Training Center
- $500,000 for the Lincoln Neighborhood Corridor Safety Enhancements Project
- $1,466,279 for the Redondo Beach Marina Dock System Replacement
- $850,000 for the Santa Monica Affordable Housing Rehab Project
- $850,000 for the Venice Beach Restroom Replacement Project
- $322,500 for the El Segundo Emergency Operations Center Project
Each year, Congress must pass legislation to fund all areas of the government. This year’s funding bills included opportunities for federal funding to go directly to local projects across the country. I worked hard in Washington to ensure that our community received these vital resources and look forward to all the good these local governments and organizations will do with them!
