Dear John,

I'm writing with a special message for high school students in Alabama's 7th Congressional District:

The 2024 Congressional Art Competition is officially underway, and my office is accepting submissions from high school students until Friday, April 26, 2024.

This year's theme is Alabama Story Makers: The Historic People and Places of the Cotton State.

Whether you submit a drawing, painting, photograph, or even a mixed-media design, I encourage you to use your imagination and let your creativity shine!

The winner will be chosen by a panel of expert judges and will receive free round-trip airfare for two to Washington D.C. to attend an official reception. Not only that, but their artwork will be proudly displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one whole year.

To enter the 2024 Congressional Art Competition, follow these easy steps:

  1. Visit my website for a full list of guidelines.
  2. Print and complete your 2024 Submission Packet.
  3. Drop off your artwork and completed submission packet at one of my district offices (addresses below) OR bring them to your school and call (334) 262-1919 to have someone from my office pick them up.

Hosting this competition is one of my favorite parts of the year. It is a reminder of the incredible talent here in Alabama's 7th Congressional District.

I look forward to reviewing each of your submissions and having the winning artwork displayed in our nation’s Capitol Building. Remember to submit your materials by Friday, April 26th to be considered!

As always, please be sure to check in regularly with our website and social media pages (TwitterFacebook, and Instagram) for updates. If you'd like to share your thoughts or concerns, you can email me here.

Today and every day, it is an honor to serve you in Congress. Take good care.

Sincerely,
